HARD SPIRITUAL TRAINING BY COACH HOLY SPIRIT! “It is God that girdeth me with strength, and maketh my way perfect. He maketh my feet like hinds feet, and setteth me upon my high places. He teacheth my hands to war, so that a bow of steel is broken by mine arms.” (Psalm 18:32 - 34) Life is a tough nut to crack. People can be heartless - cold, callous and criminal. Problems and hardships abound here and there on the journey. Enmities, hostilities, ailments, pains and sorrows dot the terrain of life. Violence is the hobby of the perverse; treachery is the pastime of the possessed. Money and Material Possessions will not ameliorate the living hell. Marriage and friends cannot be a surcease for the boil of life. You can only cut iron with something which is harder than iron! And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force. (Matthew 11:12) Or else how can one enter into a strong mans house, and spoil his goods, except he first bind the strong man? and then he will spoil his house. (Matthew 12:29) The kolanut of this world is only for those who can take heart, said Professor Kofi Awonoor, the late Ghanaian literary icon in his poem, Songs of Sorrow. Jesus, the Christ said In this world you will have tribulation, but be of good cheer for I have overcome the world. GOD allows us to go through hardships comparable to hell to bring out the gem which He has hidden in us. He needs us to be toughened, to be seasoned and to be experienced in order that we might be strong enough to bear with the weaknesses of those who are frail, and to empathize with them and encourage them until they overcome their hard times too. Hard times are also meant to draw people close to GOD by breaking them down until they, like haughty King Nebuchadnezzar fully recognize the Most High as The One who has dominion over the kingdom of men. JEHOVAH said to Joshua the Leader of Israel who took over from Moses the Man of GOD and took them to the Promised Land: There shall not any man be able to stand before thee all the days of thy life: as I was with Moses, so I will be with thee: I will not fail thee, nor forsake thee. Be strong and of a good courage: for unto this people shalt thou divide for an inheritance the land, which I sware unto their fathers to give them. Only be thou strong and very courageous, that thou mayest observe to do according to all the law, which Moses My servant commanded thee: turn not from it to the right hand or to the left, that thou mayest prosper whithersoever thou goest. This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success. Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest. (Joshua 1:5 - 9) As GOD spoke to Joshua, He is speaking in the same manner to all of us today: Only be thou strong and courageous! Robert Schuller said: Tough times never last but tough people do! And he wrote a book to that effect. The Prophet Habbakuk said: Although the fig tree shall not blossom, neither shall fruit be in the vines; the labour of the olive shall fail, and the fields shall yield no meat; the flock shall be cut off from the fold, and there shall be no herd in the stalls: Yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will joy in the God of my salvation. The LORD God is my strength, and he will make my feet like hinds feet, and he will make me to walk upon mine high places. (Habbakuk 3:17 - 19) Whenever you feel as if you are in the worlds extreme corner, or that you are about to sink in the swamp of despair and tribulation, like the Prophet-King David, you need to always encourage yourself in the LORD and give yourself a good pep talk: Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted in me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him for the help of his countenance. (Psalm 42:5) The Word of GOD and the Holy Spirit of GOD are the Rock, Pillar and Shock-absorber we need to reign as Conquerors in this world. Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water (Word of GOD) and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. (John 3:5) And I will pray the Father, and He shall give you another Comforter, that He may abide with you for ever; Even the Spirit of truth; Whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth Him not, neither knoweth Him: but ye know Him; for He dwelleth with you, and shall be in you. I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you. Yet a little while, and the world seeth Me no more; but ye see Me: because I live, ye shall live also. At that day ye shall know that I am in My Father, and ye in Me, and I in you. (John 14:16 - 20)
