HAWKS WIN!!! HAWKS WIN!!! 5-4 over the Oilers at the UC to close out the weekend 2-for-2, make it a three game winning streak and extend their point streak to seven games. Off a fantastic Brandon Pirri pass, Brandon Saad lit the lamp at the end of the First, to end what had been a very boring opening period. After the Oilers got two back in to start the Second Period, the Hawks came battling back. Andrew Shaw picked up his fourth goal of the year thanks to a great no-look pass by Saad to tie it at the second intermission. The Third Period saw scoring and a lot of it. It was a Bryan Bickell goal that got it going, with assists by Rozsival and Kane. After David Perron tied it at 3 for the Oilers, Marcus Kruger gave the Hawks the lead back with a nifty play in front of the net. Two minutes later on the Power Play, Duncan Keith tallied his first goal, a wrister from the point to make it 5-3. That insurance was needed after an Edmonton shorthanded cut the lead to one, but that was as close as the Oilers would get. Crawford had 19 saves to get two wins in two nights. The Hawks are off until Thursday when they welcome the red-hot Phoenix Coyotes to the UC on replica ring night!
