HB CG were paged at 1230 today to a report of a woman stuck in the mud at Herne Bay Pier. Once on scene a joint rescue was conducted with Kent Fire and Rescue to extract the casualty who by this time was up to her knees in water due to the incoming tide. RAF rescue helicopter R125 was tasked to assist along with the coastguard rescue team from Sheppey who cordoned off a landing site for the helicopter. The helicopter landed in the Neptune car park. the casualty was taken to QEQM to be treated for hypothermia.
