HBA members Weldon Bowman, architect, and John Madden, builder, have successfully collaborated in the design and construction of a new residential property in the heart of Brookside. Weldon, 2014 Remodelers Council president, is responsible for the form and space of the home, which in turn are given shape and scale in the design process. John, former Green Building Council president, is responsible for the home’s construction, subject to the National Green Building Standard’s highest rating known as Emerald. In order to receive the Emerald rating a checklist is scored in categories which include energy, water and resource efficiency, indoor environmental quality, lot and site development, and homeowner education and maintenance. Without a doubt, the home’s green amenities are appealing and as an infill project it complements the adjacent homes in one of Tulsa’s most desirable and compact neighborhoods.
