Thanks, Steve! Way to represent in that other forum where you seem to be among true friends and where extremist, delusional points of view are not just allowed, but embraced. A couple of examples: Lots of German voters cast their ballots for the National Socialist Party in the 1930s because they wanted stability, conservative values, and a return of national pride, little realizing what was in store for them from the so-called conservatives installed in power. It was a reaction against progressive government and this reaction was whipped up by propaganda that today would be similar to the smear campaigns and misrepresentations of the RPOC and HB Chamber of Commerce. Instead of cartoons of Jews and Blacks, we had unflattering cartoons of Council incumbents. A similar comparison was made between then and now in the excellent film Freedom Writers (2007) starring Hilary Swank and Patrick Dempsey (ironically, the true story movie focused on gangs and intolerance in Long Beach during the 90s). So, the next four years could witness a return to the bad old days of the Don Hansen regime where many criticized the totalitarian nature of the Council majority in stuffing their agenda down the throats of our community members. Were about to see a replay of that. Dont say I didnt warn you all. Tim Geddes And this pearl from Merle: ...in the end, they dont get what they bargained for, but their leaders will always try to convince them they won, by pointing out small concessions that were made by the REAL winners or issues that they really had no effect on at all, i.e. fire pits or fire works. The real winners were the money candidates and their issues. Fire pits and fire works are peanuts compared to where the the money is in construction and development, and natural resources. Hitler, Churchill, Bin Ladin, and so many others just use the same technique on their audiences. This isnt new nor innovative and Mike (Hotchinson) just sort of laid it out It was amazing to watch and scary to see it still works. Got that?
