HC For Chloe A.K.A. Cleverus HC ;) “… bet you’ll chicken out before midnight.” Sirius said with a grin. Remus shook his head. “I thought we were too old for dares, Padfoot.” He said wryly. “Don’t make her do this.” “Hey, she wouldn’t tell me who she fancies, so she has to spend the night at the top of the astronomy tower!” Sighing, Chloe stared at the two of them. Of course she couldn’t tell them whom she fancied. How could she ever admit to them that she was in love with a Slytherin? “Oh, I’ll do your stupid dare, Sirius.” Chloe sighed. Chloe grabbed her pack and blanket and trudged up the stairs of the astronomy tower. For a few hours, she sat on the top stair reading a book, but she knew Sirius would come check that she was out on the tower like she said she would. She wouldn’t let that cocky idiot think she was a coward. So, with a sigh, she heaved her bag up and walked out onto the platform, nearly tripping over Severus Snape. He was curled up just a few feet out the door, head in his hands, shoulders shaking. Startled, Chloe laid a hand on his shoulder. “Severus?” She said tentatively, “Are you alright?” He looked up at her, tears still rolling down his face. “Chloe.” He mumbled. “If you must know, everything is most definitely not alright. I’ve messed up.” Chloe sighed, she was pretty sure what he was talking about. A few weeks ago, Lily had gotten angry at him for hanging out with some guys who had dabbled in dark magic. Then he had called her a mudblood when James was bullying him once. Lily hadn’t spoken to him since. Didn’t want to. She was seeing James now, Severus completely forgotten. Sitting down beside him, she put her arm around him. “It’ll turn out alright, Severus.” She soothed. “There’s other options out there, second chances.” “Second chances at love?” He asked in a tormented voice, “Who would love me?” Chloe stared at him for a moment, and then taking a deep breath, said “Well, me for one…” Severus turned to her and stared. “Really?” He said, bewildered. “Yeah. I have for a long time.” Hesitantly she leaned forward and gently kissed him. He didn’t move at first, but then his hands slid up her arms and he pulled her to him.
