HEADCANON/ONE-SHOT/FANFICTION/WHATEVER YOU WANT TO CALL IT xP Well, he’d really done it this time. Sure, he had left Amy waiting for years, but when he came for her she was still young and fit, with her whole life ahead of her. He had been too late for Madam de Pompadour, but he had spent some time with her throughout her short life, at least. But now he had really done it. He continued to gaze through the window sadly, watching the elderly lady. She must be at least 70 now. He remembered when he had met her, not much more than a day ago for him, but obviously many years for her. They had fought against the Cybermen together. It had been a while since he had fought against the Cybermen, and she certainly helped him a great deal. As everything fell into place, he had realised that no matter how much he wanted her to come away with him, she couldn’t come with him yet. So he had told that he would come as soon as he could. But obviously the TARDIS had thought otherwise. He was still debating over whether to knock on her door or not when she suddenly looked over at the window and right at him. Recognition instantly lit up her face, but she sat still for many seconds, just staring. The Doctor gazed sadly back. Finally, she slowly rose from her chair, clutched a walking stick with her right hand and made her way to the door. As soon as she opened the door, the Doctor began apologising, but she raised her hand to stop him before silently inviting him in. After all, it was snowing, and as the Doctor felt the warmth of her living room fire he realised that he had been freezing outside. He stood as close to the fire as he dared and accepted her offer of tea. With their hot cups of tea in hand, the Doctor again began to explain, and again she stopped him. “All I ever wished for,” she told him, “was to see you one more time before I died. And now my wish has come true. Thank you, Doctor.”
