` HEADS UP ` My weekly ` blog ` on all aspects related to Redwood and life in general ! Monday 27th January 2014. It had been my intention to produce a daily blog from Cairo this week as part of our input into the International Inspiration programme phase 2 ! However following the bombings and unrest in Cairo over the weekend, and having taken advice from the foreign office, the decision was made to defer this part of the programme until a later date. Following the success of the phase 1 programme in 2013, Redwood was approach by the Youth Sports Trust and the British Council to work with the Egyptian Paralympic Committee and the Ministry of Sports in Cairo to review some sporting programmes for youngsters with disabilities. The visit this week would have included meetings with senior managers within each sporting discipline, the vice president of the Paralympic Committee and visits to a number of sporting venues in Cairo as part of our scoping visit. It is hoped that our support and work with the Egyptian Paralympic committee, the Youth Sports Trust and the British Council will take place within the next two months ! An exciting prospect for all involved at Redwood ! Final plans are being put into place for the KS3 Driving Inspiration project next week which will include joint planning with staff and students at Oulder Hill on an artistic programme to coincide with the winter olympics which begins in the next two weeks ! Our whole school plans for our own Winter Olympics Day on 14th February are looking really good ! Watch this space ! Enjoy the week ahead and speak soon !
