HEADS UP! There will be MAJOR DISRUPTIONS to the Jerusalem transportation network tomorrow morning, Friday, March 21, due to the running of the Jerusalem Marathon. The Jerusalem Bus Map will NOT reflect the impact of these disruptions. Please see the list below for a list of planned disruptions, but keep in mind that following information is being provided as a courtesy, and that Orens Transit Page is not liable or responsible should you not arrive at your destination on time, as planned, for any reason as a result of using the maps provided at jlembusmap, or any of the information posted on this page. It is expected that the bus reroutes and changes outlined below will be in effect until approximately 1 PM, though the exact timing of the closures and reroutes is subject to change. Some routes may resume normal service earlier than that time. Please note that the detours outlined below are subject to change as required by marathon organizers and/or the police. Bus lines without planned detours (including but not limited to routes 4, 16, 20, 21, 23, 24, 26/26A, 27/27A, 28/28A, 29, 30, 33, 36, 37, 40, 47, 52, 54, 55, 56/56A, 57, 62, 64, 67) may also be rerouted without notice. Riders on all lines should expect major delays and allow extra time to complete their journeys. The Jerusalem Bus Map will NOT reflect any of the reroutes, changes, or suspensions of service as a result of the marathon! Additional information and inquiries should be made directly to Egged by dialing *2800 from any phone. Information for routes that are being rerouted or suspended during the running of the Jerusalem Marathon: The light rail will operate in two sections on Friday morning during the marathon: 1. Har Herzl -- Tahana Merkazit 2. Ammunition Hill -- Heil HaAvir (No service between Tachana Merkazit and Ammunition Hill) Bus routes 25, 45, 65, and 66 parallel the suspended portion of the light rail line but are subject to detours (details below). Light rail service will return to the full route at about 12:30 PM. Buses: Route 1: Kotel bound service detoured between Kikar HaShabbat and the Kotel, Central Bus Station bound service detoured between the Kotel and HaNevi’im Route 3: Suspended from Kikar Sacks to the Kotel in both directions, transfer to Route 1 at Kikar Sacks for onward journeys to the Kotel Route 4A: CBS bound service detoured from Kiryat Moshe Interchange to CBS Route 5: Ramat Beit HaKerem bound service detoured from Givat HaMatos to Hasadna/Yad HaRutzim Route 6: Har Nof bound service detoured from Kiryat Moshe Interchange to CBS Route 7/7A: Suspended entirely in both directions, see Route 78 for service to Ramat Rachel, Diplomat Hotel, and Arnona Route 9: Suspended from Agripas to Givat Mordechai in both directions (see routes 32 and 42A for alternate service to Nayot) Route 10: Har Herzl bound service detoured from Kanyon Hadar to Ben Zakai/Yossi ben Yoezer. Talpiot bound service detoured from Ben Zakai/Yossi ben Yoezer to Hauman. Route 12: Detoured from Yad HaRutzim/HaTnufa to Rav HaHovel/Lankin in both directions Route 13: Suspended from Dostai/Hizkiyahu HaMelech to Kikar HaShabbat in both directions Route 14: Suspended entirely in both directions Route 15: Suspended entirely in both directions Route 17/17A: Suspended entirely in both directions (Route 29 to/from Givat Masua is operating normally) Route 18: Suspended entirely from Yossi ben Yoezer/Yohanan Ben Zakkai to the Central Bus Station Route 19: Suspended entirely in both directions, see route 42A for service between Hadassah-Ein Kerem and Givat Ram Route 22: Suspended from Shai Agnon/Katzenelson to Pisgat Ze’ev North in both directions Route 25: Neve Yaakov bound service detoured between the Central Bus Station to Kikar HaDavidka and between Sderot Eshkol/Sheyshet HaYamim and French Hill Junction Route 30A: Suspended entirely in both directions (NB: there is no scheduled service on Route 30A from Har HaTzofim to Gilo on Fridays) Route 31: Ramot bound service detoured between Malha Mall and Binyenei HaUma (bypassing Givat Ram) Route 32: Detoured between the Central Bus Station and Tzomet Nayot in both directions Route 34/34A: Suspended entirely Route 35/35A: Detoured between Kiryat Hamemshala and Kikar Haft in both directions Routes 8 & 38: Suspended entirely Route 39/39A: Bypasses the stop at Bituach Leumi on Har Hotzvim bound service Route 42A: This route will operate from Hadassah Ein Kerem to Givat Ram via the regular route of Route 19 from Hadassah-Ein Kerem to Tzomet Nayot, then left on Shneur, continue straignt, on Burla and then Sderot HaMuzeonim to Givat Ram. Service from Givat Ram to Hadassah-Ein Kerem will be provided on the same routing in reverse. Route 43: Suspended from the Kotel to Nof Zion in both directions Route 45: Kaminitz bound service detoured between the Central Bus Station to Kikar HaDavidka and between Sderot Eshkol/Sheyshet HaYamim and French Hill Junction, no change to Central Bus Station bound service Route 48: Suspended entirely Route 48A: Suspended entirely Route 49: Morning service from Neve Ya’akov to Talpiot will not operate Route 50: Detoured from Kiryat Moshe to the Central Bus Station in both directions Route 53: Suspended from French Hill (HaHagana/Etsel) to Har HaTzofim/Hebrew University in both directions, temporary layover point behind Kfar HaStudentim Route 59: Kaminetz bound service detoured from Sderot Eshkol/Sheyshet HaYamim to French Hill Junction Route 65: Pisgat Ze’ev bound service detoured from Sderot Eshkol/Sheyshet HaYamim to French Hill Junction Route 66/66A: Givat Ram bound service detoured from Kikar Zaks to HaNevi’im and terminates at the Strings Bridge (Gesher HaMeitarim), Pisgat Ze’ev bound service originates at the Strings Bridge (Gesher HaMeitarim) and is detoured from Kikar HaDavidka to French Hill Junction. Route 68: Suspended from French Hill (HaHagana/Etsel) to Har HaTzofim/Hebrew University in both directions (temporary layover point behind Kfar HaStudentim) and from the Strings Bridge (Gesher HaMeitarim) to Givat Ram in both directions Routes 71 & 72: Replaced by routes 71A and 72A in both directions between Ramot and Kikar HaShabbat (Routes 71A and 72A will operate their normal routes, except the first stop on Ramot-bound trips will be on Yeshayahu instead of Strauss), both routes will be suspended entirely with no replacement service between Kikar HaShabbat and Gilo Routes 74 & 75: Detoured from Givat HaMatos to the Central Bus Stations in both directions Route 77/77A: Suspended from Kikar HaShabbat to Malha in both directions Route 78/78A: CBS bound service detoured from Rav HaHovel/Lankin to the Central Bus Station via Arnona and Ramat Rachel, Talpiot Mizrach bound service detoured from Binyenei HaUma to Rav HaHovel/Lankin Routes 142, 143: Mateh Binyamin bound service detoured from Sderot Eshkol/Sheyshet HaYamim to French Hill Junction. Jerusalem bound service bypasses the stop at the Strings Bridge (Gesher HaMeitarim). Route 163: Detoured in both directions. Buses from the Central Bus Station to Kever Rachel operate the regular route from the Central Bus Station to Tzomet Bar Ilan and then operate nonstop to Kever Rachel. Buses from Kever Rachel to the Central Bus Station will proceed from Kever Rachel directly to the Central Bus Station and will terminate there. Buses to/from Ma’ale Adumim will bypass Ammunition Hill LRT Station during the running of the marathon. Some trips on routes 122 and 124 will not operate. Buses to/from Givat Ze’ev will operate via the city entrance (Givat Shaul Interchange) instead of using the regular routing via Kiryat Moshe Interchange during the time that the streets in the area of Givat Ram are closed. As soon as those streets are reopened, the buses will return to their normal routes.
