HEALING HURT HEARTS SERIES PART 15 Prepared by Pastor Charles Chanda; Pretoria, South Africa HE HURT HIS PARENTS FOR NOT CONSIDERING THEIR ADVICE WITH HIS MARRIAGE PLANS AND PAID HEAVILY FOR THAT! Jdg 14:1- 4 And Samson went down to Timnath, and saw a woman in Timnath of the daughters of the Philistines. 2. And he came up, and told his father and his mother, and said, I have seen a woman in Timnath of the daughters of the Philistines: now therefore get her for me to wife. 3. Then his father and his mother said unto him, Is there never a woman among the daughters of thy brethren, or among all my people, that thou goest to take a wife of the uncircumcised Philistines? And Samson said unto his father, Get her for me; for she pleaseth me well. 4. But his father and his mother knew not that it was of the LORD, that he sought an occasion against the Philistines: for at that time the Philistines had dominion over Israel. Jdg 14:20 But Samsons wife was given to his companion, whom he had used as his friend. See the concern of Samson’s parents with regard to his choice in marriage. They were not so much against his choice of beauty which had to do with the skin complexion, length and colour of hair and nails, dressing code and application of body perfumes but the character and doctrinal back ground of the woman. This is something that most of us do not care about especially as parents. Most parents are looking at level of education, bank balance and beauty. For some men unfortunately they do not even understand that the complexion that they see on most women is not theirs as they have to spend hours and hours and hours putting so many foundations and finally their preferred colour of complexion and not to talk about the hair. A few years ago it was reported in the media of the couple that divorced on the very day they wedded due to the problem of the hair. What happened was that all along that the two had been in a relationship, the woman was using a wig as she had not a single hair on her head. When they got home in the evening, the lady innocently removed the wig before going to bed and when the man saw the bald head of his lovely wedded wife, he screamed and shouted that “so you have been deceiving me that you had long hair and that was part of the reason I got married to you” The woman could not understand this because most women out there are doing it. The following day the man went to court filed for divorce and was granted. The woman paid the man for deception. Those who have ears have heard. THE CONCERN OF SAMSON’S PARENTS! Jdg 14:3 Then his father and his mother said unto him, Is there never a woman among the daughters of thy brethren, or among all my people, that thou goest to take a wife of the uncircumcised Philistines? And Samson said unto his father, Get her for me; for she pleaseth me well. They had wanted Samson to find a wife among his brethren. What was the reasoning behind this? Follow me as I get some answers that will help those of you who want to get married. Ezr 9:12 Now therefore give not your daughters unto their sons, neither take their daughters unto your sons, nor seek their peace or their wealth for ever: that ye may be strong, and eat the good of the land, and leave it for an inheritance to your children for ever. 1Ki 11:1- 6 But king Solomon loved many strange women, together with the daughter of Pharaoh, women of the Moabites, Ammonites, Edomites, Zidonians, and Hittites; 2. Of the nations concerning which the LORD said unto the children of Israel, Ye shall not go in to them, neither shall they come in unto you: for surely they will turn away your heart after their gods: Solomon clave unto these in love. 3. And he had seven hundred wives, princesses, and three hundred concubines: and his wives turned away his heart. 4. For it came to pass, when Solomon was old, that his wives turned away his heart after other gods: and his heart was not perfect with the LORD his God, as was the heart of David his father. 5. For Solomon went after Ashtoreth the goddess of the Zidonians, and after Milcom the abomination of the Ammonites. 6. And Solomon did evil in the sight of the LORD, and went not fully after the LORD, as did David his father. If you are a Christian and you want to marry a sinner, pause and think first. OUR HEAVENLY FATHER’S ADVICE FOR ALL SINGLES! 2Co 6:14 Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? If you want to hurt your heavenly parent and reap the consequences just go ahead and marry that person who is against God, against the people of God, against anything that has to do with God and against the church. HE THAT HAS EARS LET HIM HEAR WHAT THE SPIRIT IS SAYING TO THE CHURCH.
