HEAR HEAR馃摙馃摙馃摙馃摙馃摙馃摙 I managed to successfully stay silent for 9 hours today, all for ARUK (Alzheimers Research UK). I surpassed my personal target of 拢100 and I now want to say a big thank you to all who made it possible, I am truly grateful. I will not be giving the funds in until I return to work next Wednesday so feel free to come in (B203) and donate any amount, even your small change can make a difference. Alzheimers and Dementia are terrible diseases, not just for the victim (who incidentally may seem content in their own world), but for their loved ones its a heartbreaking experience. We have not been taking much notice of this as a nation, but just recently our government has realised the intensity of this illness. They (like me and thousands of other Dementia Friends) are keen to raise awareness and funds for research. This is great news, and we can only hope and pray that one day a preventative cure or positive treatment will emerge. If you know/ knew someone close to you, you can probably recall the heartbreak you felt. If you are lucky to have not experienced this pain, please for a short time try imagine your heart being physically ripped out of you and the pain it brings.
