HEIL SPELLCHEK. Even we word lovers & syntactic doctrinaires commit our share of grammatical errors, scrambled sentences and subject-verb disagreements. It’s a bit embarrassing at times but we shrug it off because, well, George Bush. But what vexes our very soul is readers who ignore the point we’re trying to make because of your greater need to corral & correct every stray comma – or correct our already correct grammar. So if you’re a grammar Nazi and you know it, before you surrender again to the urge to tell the world how wrong they write, Stephen Fry would like to have a word with you.
