HELPLINE: MUM TO MUM: Please post only comments that are useful, helpful, constructive and practical. Hubby had a child before we got married with a lady so full of drama. He said they only had a fling which resulted in the child, that they are not compatible in many ways as such and cant imagine spending the rest of his life with her. At first, she insisted hubby must pay her bride price before claiming the child as its done in her culture. When that didnt work, she started sending series of SMS telling him how he will never have peace in his marriage, he will never hear the cry of a baby in his home etc. Sincerely, hubby has been a great dad to his child, he provides all he needs and ensures he visits at least once in a month. He even suggested that he gets a better apartment for them but she refused that when she moves, it will be into her (hubbys) house as a prophet told her. My concern now is, recently, whenever hubby visits, the boy picks his bags and clothes crying that he wants to follow his dad. Baby mama never leaves the boy with his dad even for a day, she only gives him the boys pictures sometimes, the last time she even included one of hers. Im still wondering why she did that. Ive never met, seen or spoken to this lady even though we live in the same city but Im thinking I should call her up and see if we can get acquainted and perhaps she could trust me enough to allow her son visit his dad and siblings. The boy is about 4yrs. I haven;t told hubby and dont intend telling him. Do you think its a good idea?
