HEY GOD! ARE YOU THERE? Pt 2 “KEYS TO DIVINE GUIDANCE” KEY 1. The Scriptures-A BREATH OF FRESH AIR 2 Tim 3:16-17 All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work. Ps 119:10 Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path. The Word, “God breathed” as seen here, comes to us from the Greek language in the term “theopneustos” meaning “to divinely breathe in.” It carries with it the idea that the every Word that comes from God is” God breathed”. It is His air, wind, and breath that we breathe. Get this. When God formed man in the beginning, “he breathed into his nostrils the breath of life. The first gasp of air into Adam’s lungs was God’s very own breath. When a baby first comes into this world, he takes that first breath. It is life, the very breath of God. This whole earth began with a breath and then “God speaking.” He said things and it was. His Word is what caused it to be. I am sure this is where the saying was derived “what He says goes”. Jesus said,” man does not live on bread alone but on every Word that comes from the mouth of God.” God’s Word then is breath and life itself. Man continues to scrap for eat, drink and apparel while what God says and communicates to us is what is eternal. There is just one thing pertaining to life and existence that will never pass away, It is the WORD that will be fulfilled to the “Nth” degree. It will not fail. We can bank on it. This is our main guiding force and what truly leads our future. Most people would love to have Jesus Christ speak directly to them. Well, He did. And It was all written down for us in the scriptures, the inspired Word of God. His breath is on every page. Holy men moved upon by the Spirit of God recorded those things for many who were to come to faith in the future. The voice of Jesus continues to ring out “the words I have spoken to you are spirit and they are life.” One would think this would be a “no brainer”. But how many of us have gone for lengths of time without sitting at His feet, waiting upon the Word. The bible is our very own love letter from God. It actually contains all that we need for instruction in life. Between its covers from Old to New Testament are answers for us. It can be discovered again and again that meditation in the Word of God will bring renewal, insight, and revelation to all who hear it. A healthy practice is to take in the Word daily like a medicine prescribed by the Great Physician. Believe it as though it was written directly to you. As you do, scriptures will begin to pop in illumination as if you had never read or heard of them before. It is new breath from God coming into your life. Many times we have questions that linger in our minds or have an acute need for direction, through meditation upon His literal Word, the answer comes. I personally have found that the newer technologies such as the audio bible can keep me in the Word all day long and even all night long listening to and taking in the Holy Scriptures. I have fallen in love with His Word; it is His fresh breath in my being for today making me new. His mercies are new every morning.
