HEY... GOT A MINUTE TO SEE IT FROM MY SIDE? At this point in my life I am about 70% deaf.....So whats the worst part of going deaf? Is it no longer hearing the birds... No I can see them so I know their here and can remember the sweetness of their songs....Is it the sound of the creek, the crickets, the frogs? Nope have these peaceful sounds in the memory banks of my mind. Can play em back anytime! Is it the lack of childrens laughter? No you learn to hear with your eyes and see the laughter. Is the worst part the surrounding conversations and interaction? No you come to realize 95% of that is mindless drivel your better off without! Is it the music you have played and now you cannot hear properly if at all? No because you can still feel it! Is it that you struggle to follow conversations? No, you learn to read people and sitituation together to anticipate conversation. All of this and more brings communication to a whole new level making you more aware of what is going on around you and how things and people interact to manipulate and control... BUT YOU CAN SEE IT. . In SO many ways I find going deaf a blessing....THE WORST PART OF GOING DEAF IS when you have to start closing yourself off from the ones you love because you can so clearly see their frustration, their agrivation and eventually their anger at having to repeat themselves and having their world drown out by the TV or the radio because its the only way I can understand the words. Yes the worst part of going deaf is strapping back from the ones you love when you can no longer take seeing them so angry because YOU Cant hear.
