HGFA CENSORSHIP Well, now that the "election" is over I would like to publicly publish the censorship that the HGFA CoM have exercised to prohibit public discussion of potential improvements to the operations of powered paragliding in Australia. The following is an article that was set to be published in the August/September 2013 edition of the HGFA Skysailor magazine. It had already been formatted by the editor and was ready to go to print. shawtechs/Mentoring/index.html The article was pulled from the magazine hours prior to publication by the HGFA Committee of Management. Their explanations of why it was removed by them simply amounts to censorship of any free discussion that the members may want to be part of. Please read the article itself and decide for yourself. We have also provided the email discussion (at bottom of page) that was had between the article authors and the HGFA Operations Manager, John Twomey. The authors wish to point out, quite clearly, that the article was written with the intention of merely opening up discussions amoungst pilots on the merits of having an evolution/improvement of the current operations with regards to Powered Paragliding. Sadly the HGFA CoM see this as a threat to their own ideas and control. Their reasons for pulling the article from publication show that they either have no understanding of PPG operations or they refuse to allow any discussion by the membership of things that are not the work of the CoM. The CoM are there to serve the membership. Not the other way around. Andrew (Chuckie) Shipley
