HHJGA student Halle Auf Der Heide elevated her understanding of why posture is one of, if not the most important aspect of a golf swing and not only is she learning the importance of having her body in balance but she also is learning how the golf clubs length and weight can disrupt her balance as well. If you wont to understand the relationship that a golfer has with their golf club and why almost everything a player does wrong in their swing exist in the first place watch this video. Academy Director David Goolsby explains how golfers unknowingly are effected by the golf club in the same way a tight rope walker knowingly effects their balance. Although this is something you probably have never heard before and probably even never considered its guaranteed to leave an impression on you and your understanding of balance in the golf swing, what effects it, how to maintain it and it starts with a better understanding of this topic. Most golfers prepare to swing poorly before they even move the club one inch. Because they are not facing certain death if they perform out of balance or with an improperly fit club. A tight rope walker of course would never do this. Although the end result from sport to sport is quite different when the athlete proceeds out of balance (one falls to their death the other says their head must have moved and re-tees). Their rate of success however is the same, 100% fail. One fails to walk on the rope and the other fails at swinging on plane all because the relationship between the object in their hands and the bodies balance failed to come together.
