HIGH WIND WARNING IN EFFECT THROUGH 10 PM TONIGHT FOR NORTHERN AND EASTERN KLAMATH COUNTY AND LAKE COUNTY IN SOUTHERN OREGON, AND MODOC COUNTY IN NORTHEASTERN CALIFORNIA The National Weather Service office in Medford, Oregon has issued a High Wind Warning due to expected winds sustained from the south / southwest at 40 - 60 miles an hour with gusts to 70 miles an hour possible. Winds over ridges and in the Summer Lake area in Northern Lake County may reach 90 miles an hour. These conditions are likely to bring trees down and also result in power outages. Structural damage to buildings is also possible from falling trees. Items such as lawn furniture, tools, garbage cans, and childrens toys will likely become airborne debris also capable of damage. Travel on Highway 31, Highway 395, Highway 299, and other roads will be impacted by the strong winds and possible trees down. Only essential travel should be attempted during the warning time period Locations in the warning area includes...Chemult, Crescent, Bly, Paisley, Silver Lake, Summer Lake, Christmas Valley, Lakeview, Adel, Canby, Likely, and Alturas.
