FINAL SROKE UPDATE -- I am happy to announce that my walker is folded up and put away. Drove my Chevy pick-up truck yesterday for the first time since Labor Day 2014. Most basic functionality is restored. Still have residual weakness that will take several months to overcome with daily exercises using my ankle weights, therabands and dumbbells combined with walking. My left vocal chord is still paralyzed, so I talk a little funny. But that is related to my thyroidectomy back in early August, not the stroke. If and when Lefty decides to kick back in (surgeon says that will eventually happen), Ill share that good news. Id like to offer a special thanks to two of my rehab therapists -- Meandria and Andrea -- that were instrumental in helping me get my life back. These two young women will always have a special place in my heart! Thanks ladies!
