HIIT it up! Have you HIIT it up before??? I actually appreciate the therapeutic entity of a moderately paced cardio session, but when I really want to burn it up and lean out faster, HIIT is my beat! Why? Read on... 1. The mixed up pace keeps an intense workout interesting and before you know it, its done. 2. Time efficient/doesnt take long to burn a LOT. A solid 13-20 minutes is all it takes--key word solid. 3. I like to add weight to an exercise to boost intensity rather than speed. Many people believe that going faster is the only way to intensify a workout, not true. Many variables can intensify a workout and sometimes that means going slower--yes, I said that. 4. The ad-hoc movements, tempo and altered protocol will leave you feeling refreshed and super enthused waking up with a tight feeling in places you maybe havent felt in a while. 5. Variety. Getting off a machine and using your body is such a different experience, the variety alone will generate a stimulus enough to cause your body to respond in a new way. 6. More calories burned AFTER the workout with HIIT than with a steady-state cardio session. Whats better than being a walking inferno???? There exists probably infinite types of ways to workout. Each protocol serves a purpose and knowing when to employ which is determined by your goal, your time frame to goal and what your body needs. Your bodys needs change and require different techniques at different times. Knowing which types of workouts to do, when, for how long, at what intensity is a scientific matter.
