HILLSIDE HELPS- ...forgiving one another, even as God for Christs - TopicsExpress

HILLSIDE HELPS- ...forgiving one another, even as God for Christs sake hath forgiven you. (Eph. 4:32) When God chose to provide a means of forgiveness for fallen humanity He gave His Son Jesus. By the shedding of His blood, forgiveness is offered to all that truly come to Him in repentance from sin and with a desire to be forgiven. God, through His amazing grace, marks our account as PAID IN FULL, all sins are forgiven and will remembered no more. The requirement for those who have been forgiven is, in turn, to forgive the trespasses of others, in the same way God has forgiven them. This is no simple or easy challenge. First of all, we dont have the capacity to forgive all trespasses at one time. Only God can do that. The Child of God must keep a constant perspective on forgiveness. We look up for forgiveness and we must look out with forgiveness. Since we have been forgiven, we must forgive others each and every time. Just as there is no limit in God forgiving us, we in turn cannot put a limit on the forgiveness directed to our offenders. It is only through Christ we have received forgiveness, and it is only through Christ we can forgive others. Many spiritual and wonderful benefits come when we forgive, through the Spirit of Christ. One, we are obedient to God and by forgiving the offense and offender; we break the chain that binds us to them. We are now free. No longer do we walk in the unforgivenss that has caused us heartache, anger, and thoughts of retaliation. Our nights are not as sleepless and our days are not as stressful, as it relates to the offense. How often and how much are we required to forgive? The answer is: all offenses every time. This especially relates to Christians forgiving one another. Satans divides marriages, families, churches, and communities when we harbor grudges and hang on to thoughts of retaliation. Today, write this verse down on a card and keep it in front of you. As the Holy Spirit reminds you of someone who has hurt you, allow the power of Christs forgiveness to flow through you to them. Keep reminding yourself, Jesus forgave ALL my sin and I will do as He did and forgive others ALL their trespasses against me. (Bro Jerry McNeer) PLEASE SHARE
