HIRING OF P.D.E.A. AGENTS STILL ONGOING The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) is still accepting applicants for male and female drug law enforcement officers. To initially qualify, the applicant must be a Baccalaureate degree holder; a passer of the Career Service Professional examination or Board examination or Bar examination, or qualified by the Civil Service Commission (CSC) or under special laws to be eligible for Career Service Second Level Position; at least 21 years old but not more than 34 years old; and at least five feet and two inches in height for men, and five feet in height for women, or have a height waiver if under height. An interested, qualified applicant in the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) should personally submit to the PDEA – CAR regional office in Camp Bado Dangwa, La Trinidad, Benguet three sets (one original or authenticated and two photocopies) of his/her green-colored, aptly labeled and tabbed application folder, containing an application letter (all three copies must be original) addressed to USEC Arturo G. Cacdac Jr., CEO VI, Director General, PDEA, NIA Northside Rd., National Gov’t Center, Pinyahan, Quezon City 1100, as Tab “A”; properly accomplished CSC Form Number 212, commonly known as Personal Data Sheet (downloadable from csc.gov.ph), with two pieces of 2 x 2 inches ID picture, as Tab “B”; duly accomplished PDEA Agent Application Form (downloadable from pdea.gov.ph, under the PDEA Academy menu), as Tab “C”; authenticated Official Transcript of Records, as Tab “D”; authenticated college diploma, as Tab “E”; original or authenticated (with official receipt) Certification of Eligibility or Report of Rating, as Tab “F”; Birth Certificate issued by the National Statistics Office (illegible copies must be authenticated), as Tab “G”; Barangay Clearance, as Tab “H”; National Bureau of Investigation Clearance, as Tab “I”; Police Clearance, as Tab “J”; Municipal or Metropolitan Trial Court Clearance, as Tab “K”; Prosecutor’s Clearance, as Tab “L”; Regional Trial Court Clearance, as Tab “M”; Affidavit of Undertaking of Non-pending Case, as Tab “N”; drug test result issued not more than one month prior to the filing of job application, as Tab “O”; and if applicable, Height Waiver, as Tab “P”. The job application folder shall be subsequently forwarded to the PDEA national office, which shall then evaluate those applicants who shall be eligible to take the Qualifying Examination (QE). Those who shall qualify in the QE shall undergo Neuro Psychological Test. Neuropsycho Test passers shall then undergo Medical Examination and those who qualify here shall undertake the Agility Test. Passers during the Agility Test shall be background-investigated. Those who come out clean in the Background Investigation shall then be interviewed by a panel at the PDEA national office in Quezon City to come up with a final list of recruits who shall be taking their oaths as PDEA agents. Successful PDEA recruits will undergo the Drug Enforcement Officers’ Basic Course, a six-month rigid training at the PDEA Academy in Silang, Cavite undertaken on the job but will result to separation from the service if not passed. They can also be assigned anywhere in the Philippines after hurdling the course.
