Here is the summary of the historical precedents clearly pointing to a Liverpool triumph. -For the past 5 seasons, the team that topped the log at Christmas went on to win the league title, in this case, Liverpool topped log at Christmas. -In 1976, the last time Man City won the league Cup, Man City beat a team from Tyneside( Newcastle) in the final. The last time that happened, Liverpool where crowned champions. -1973 was the last time Man City beat Man United in three consecutive derbies at Old Trafford, fast forward to 2014, you will see that Man City as won 3 consecutive derbies at Old Trafford, the last time that happened, Liverpool won the league title. -No team as won more league titles in a year the World Cup is hosted than Liverpool -1921-22- In the 1921-22 season, all of the following things happened to Manchester United: Appointed a new Scottish manager.Lost 4-1 at Manchester City.Lost by one goal to Liverpool Drew 0-0 with Chelsea.Lost by one goal at home to West Bromwich Albion. Beat Sunderland Drew their eighth league match 1-1-, that season, Liverpool went on to win the league title.
