HOLD ON TO THAT SOMEONE SPECIAL By Tammie Green I was driving through the neighborhood with my windows down. The sun was setting. I passed by an older couple walking on the sidewalk. Though the man had a cane, he and the woman were linked arm in arm. I heard the man say to the woman, Well, I know what he showed me, but what do you think God was saying there? And I glanced and saw the woman rubbing the mans arm lovingly and reply, Yes, yes, well... And for that brief moment, I got caught up. I felt the love in their voices and the conviction. I thanked God for that moment, for allowing me to glimpse that. I thought to myself, now ask me what my idea of a perfect date is? Ask me for an example of true love? That would be it. To be yourself. Walking with someone who is theirself. In the beauty of Gods creation. The cool breeze. The setting sun. Underneath the trees. No walls. No fronts. Talking for hours in deep conversation about God, life, personal experience, self, where we fit and the meaning of it all. And not just talking, but truly listening to oneanother. Compassionately. Understanding. So engulfed in the wonder of it all that we are in our own little place of peace. Our happy bubble. Regardless of what is going on outside around us. If you are able to have that with someone, that is quite a blessing. If you are able to have that with someone for life...what a beautiful thing
