HOLLY UPDATE...... My poor little Holly is still at the vets. We went to see her at 8.30 this morning to transfer her from the emergency overnight vet to our vets. She made it through the night, but is still very weak and on iv fluids. Her temperature came down to 39.7, but went up again to 40.7 The urine test ruled out infection, but she is peeing haemoglobin . She has tenderness in the abdominal area, so she is having a scan later today. On the positive side, she ate her dinner and breakfast all up. She previously refused food. The vet has said that she could possibly have a tumour, or she could have muscle strangulation (which racehorses also suffer from, apparently), or she could have a problem with her spleen/liver. Unfortunately, we are still no further forward with a diagnosis, she may require specialist treatment, but are just taking it hour by hour at the moment.
