HOME COLORING. I stained my neck, shoulder, forehead, t-shirt, - TopicsExpress

HOME COLORING. I stained my neck, shoulder, forehead, t-shirt, shower curtain, sink and rug. It was a very frustrated experience, at one point the color was dripping in my eyes. Some basic rules of coloring your hair are: retouch your root, refresh your color or change your color to a different shade. Retouching your root at home would be the hardest and most people can’t do without help. The bigger mistake with retouch is; instead of coloring the regrowth the whole length get colored which causing built up, uneven color distribution, dry, dull, and frizzy. In my experiment I did a refresh overall full head color, going darker with a semi-permanent using a product the general public can buy. The results according to a client of mine: I look stress, lack of sleep, looking like I have been putting my hand in my hair and pulling it in every direction. She told me I could use a jar of mayonnaise in my hair. I will not go that far with jar of mayonnaise but I will be treating my hair to a deep mask once a week. Some tips for those who want to try coloring your own hair. I do not suggest going more than two shades lighter on your own with virgin hair. Always buy two boxes of colors. Wear protective gear, glove and cape. Do not leave it on longer than the instruction suggested. Previously colored hair, seek professional help.
