HOME SCHOOLING Home schooling is nothing new. I was home schooled so its been around at least 70 years! In Home Ec, Mom taught us cooking and sewing. Needless to say I failed that class! She had a class on charm in which she taught us how to be patient under difficult circumstances and I barely managed a passing grade on that one. But the most important class was learning about Gods love and her example helped us all pass that class with flying colors. I read a strange question recently: Can you name 5 things your parents didnt have to teach you? I was startled that some of the things were lying, stealing, and selfishness. In his letter to the Romans, Paul points out that we are born with these deadly virtues and it is because of Adams rebellion. Then he gives his listeners the good news that, as sin and death entered the world through one man - Adam: grace and forgiveness entered the world through one Man - Jesus. Because of His death on the cross we have the free gift of salvation and life. He provided the way for sinners to become saints. A fact we can put our faith in, and a class we dont want to fail. Consequently, just as the result of one trespass was condemnation for all men, so also the result of one act of righteousness was justification that brings life for all men. For just as through the disobedience of the one man the many were made sinners, so also through the obedience of the one man the many will be made righteous (Romans 5:18-19). Love, Doris (& Melody!)
