Lake Austin (Travis), TX **Police Line of Duty Death** Austin Lake IAO Fritz Hughes Park RD & Low Water Crossing RD - Senior Deputy Jessica Hollis age 37 of the Travis County Sheriffs Department died in the line of duty on 9/18/14 from drowning. Her patrol car washed away as she checked roadways for high water during a period of heavy rain around 01:50. She was able to radio dispatchers that her vehicle was being swept away prior to being missing. The patrol car was located approximately 15 minutes later but she was not with it. Deputy Holliss body was recovered from Lake Austin earlier today. She had served with the Travis County Sheriffs Office for 7 years and was a member of the agencys Dive Team. She is survived by her husband (LEO Austin PD) and 12-year-old son. 9/19/14 (WXBG)
