HONEY--Want to talk about honey for a minute. I am a big fan and maybe you might consider it, too. Raw honey has all sorts of enzymes and good stuff that purports to help allergies--some say it has to come from within 50 miles of your home but I think (maybe you know otherwise?) golden rod is golden rod wherever. I know I no longer take the mild allergy medicine I used to instead substituting a daily tablespoon of raw honey. Our bee keeper Jenny Stroh processes the best honey I have ever had. I call it sipping honey it is so pure of flavor and texture. I buy honey from all the farmers and it is good, really good stuff but, Jennys is the best by a country mile. I am selling her limited supply honey at market with frozen berries so watch the postings on my website to see when we will have it. $15 a pint with attention paid to details. I brought in a dozen jars, sold them in a few hours and the next week, half the buyers were back asking for more and raving about the honey. The honey comes from our Beyond Organic blueberry farm. We have happy bees on the farm. Did you know the multiregional organic behemoth farms that supply grocery stores spray pretty much constantly with organic insecticides--many that kill bees? They have to because they are too big to micromanage like we do. It is sad because soon they will destroy the effectiveness of the few organic insecticides available due to tolerance build up--all in the name of meeting the demand of local grocery chains that want to be what they never really can be--at least for long--organic. It would be nice if these behemoth farms would at least mass spray their organic insecticides at night to give the bees a chance :) How does Childs Blueberries do it, you ask? For that you need about an hour to read our farming practices website page...if you think that is a lot--try implementing what we do :) Appreciate your business and see you soon with frozen blueberries that are foremost in quality! childsblueberries
