HONOR GOD IN PRIORITY Obviously we could argue that healed the blind was not a theologian and 1on could discuss faith to bring to these words. Moreover, the Pharisees did not fail to throw him in the face . They told him : You were born entirely in sins , and you teach us. These gentlemen who had followed the religious high schools are not willing to be taught by a man they considered altogether born in sin. However, we can say that if this patient healed by Jesus was not a theologian, he was not lacking in inspiration , and his mouth, the Holy Spirit has left us here the words that will be our meditation this morning. We know , he said , that God does not listen to sinners , but if anyone is a worshiper and does his will , this is the one he hears . These words, spoken by a man who had just been healed by Jesus , are confirmed by many passages of Holy Scripture . By the very words of the Lord Jesus we read in ch.5 of the Gospel of John : that all may honor the Son just as they honor the Father and Jesus said , If someone does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent him . And the prophet Malachi tells us that a book of remembrance was written before the Lord, for whom? Well, we read : For those who fear the Lord and those who honor his name. And God made a promise to those who honor his name, not only have we learned from the mouth of 1ex blind that God hears , but here God goes much further , he said : They shall be mine, saith the Lord of hosts, they belong to me , those who fear me, and those who honor my name, I belong in the day that I , God says: I will spare them , alleluia ! As a man spares his son who serves him , And you will again see the difference because there is one, even if you do not want to see it, even if they pretend not to see you again see the difference between the righteous and the wicked, between one who serves God and one who does not serve Him . This morning I want to put all of us , many verses of Holy 1Ecriture in which returns the word honor , so that we can learn from the Word of God itself, How God wants us to honor , because if God hears those who honor Him , God takes possession they belong to him those who honor Him , God promises his mercy to those who honor Him , God said there will be a difference between one who serves and who does not serve , should we know before the Word of God , what is for us to honor God, How can God be honored ? You know that one day God asked the priest Eli and said to Eli , How is it that you honor your son more than me , so we can conclude in the light of the text of the first book Samuel , honoring God , implies the need for us to obey him and the first place in our lives. Eli knew about the misconduct of his son and the Word of God even uses the term the crime of which he has knowledge. Oh son of Eli did not kill anyone , but they profaned the holy things , they acted with a guilty against holy light , they had no respect for the Word of God , the sacrifice on the people offered to the Lord . And , as was young but highly evolved people the wrong way , they already practiced free love, to the door of the tabernacle of the LORD. And their father knew all this . Then God asked Eli and asked : - How is it that you honor your son more than me? . It may be sometimes referred to as parents to make concessions to our children because most of the time , we see better than others. If it was other peoples children who behave in this way, we would be the first to cry foul , but when they are ours to do the same things or sometimes do worse , we are ready to meet more than we honor the Lord. Sometimes we prefer to surrender to the will of our children, then we do not capitulerions to the will of God and we often , not by love, because love has nothing to do with this, but it we frequently by weakness to yield to our children, where we should resist their faces to honor the Lord. And I m sure my brothers and sisters , I have to judge anyone , but I have to say so that everyone considers himself, I am sure that there many Christian homes where Whit children are honored more than God. They make their whims and parents are no longer able , in respect of their children, to do the will of God. But there is something very important. We know that if someone honors God , God hears , and we know that if someone honors God , God listens to him . And there parents who have closed heaven their prayers , because they preferred their children to honor rather than honor the Lord , rather than the Word of God abide in them. God says: Those who honor me I belong and I will spare them the day that I make . Understand it, my brothers and sisters, it is not covering the misbehavior of our children that we bring to salvation. This is the extent we will honor God in our homes and our rebel rebellious children will one day be bent by the Lord, and they also know the Hi . The Lord Jesus said, and you know this passage: If anyone comes to Me and does not hate his father or his mother, his wife, his children, his brothers and sisters and even his own life , he can not be my disciple , and whoever does not bear his cross and come after me can not be My disciple . We have already said , the word hate is a Judaism that has never meant that we had to hate or our children, or our parents or anyone else , but it has the meaning to love more . The Lord Jesus meant here: If anyone comes to me and does not like me before his father , his mother, his brothers, his sisters, his wife, his children , and if someone comes to me and he loves me more than his mother, his brothers , his wife, his sisters, his children, is not worthy of me. And the Lord Jesus said : Whoever does not bear his cross , you know the cross, it hurts , and we often talk about the sufferings of the Lord Jesus , on the cross, and the heart of a father, the heart of a mother can bleed when it should stand up to a son , a daughter, but thats it, carry the cross , my brothers and sisters to be able to suffer, be able to trample our feelings to Gods will and honor in our homes ; it does not mean that we should be awkward , it does not mean we should throw out the rebellious son or daughter, it does not mean we should close the door to 1inconver ¬ ti absolutely not. But we can be like Jesus , meek and humble of heart and do the will of God, before the whim of one or the other . Honoring God that he hears us . We sometimes look far obstacles to prayer , but I think here we have to probe us and we each experience for us and ask us if the sky did not often been closed , because we honored men more than God, because we have increased our fellow before God, and because , loving badly , it remains true that we have loved more than the Lord. In the book of Proverbs , there is another way that I would put to you this morning . Proverbs ch.3 v.9 & 10: Honor the Lord with thy substance , and with the firstfruits of all thine increase : So shall thy barns be filled with plenty , and your vats will overflow with new wine . Proverbs 14/31 : He who oppresses the poor is insulting those who did , but have pity on the poor is to honor . Here are two texts, one concerning the Lord , the other for the poor . God asks us to honor him with the firstfruits of all our income. And you notice that there is this command a fulfillment promise attached to it . Honor the Lord with the firstfruits of all thine increase : So shall thy barns be filled with plenty , and your vats will overflow with new wine . I do not dwell at length on the text of Scripture , there is not so long that I was referring to our responsibility in the field of offering. However, to be faithful to God and His Word , we must go back and say that again, my brothers and sisters, we do not serve God last, but we have to serve first. You noticed that the Word of God says : Honor the Lord with the firstfruits of all your crops ; God did not say thou shalt give unto the LORD thy superfluous , he did not say : You give it to the Lord that you will , if you have left nothing more , well, I forgive you , God said, Honor the Lord with the firstfruits of all thine increase That is to say that God must be served first, and if we honor God , there is a fulfillment of promise : Your experience 1abondance attics and your vats will overflow with new wine . When the Word of God we study , we learn that there are no more rich , relatively speaking , because God does not give us anything that we can lose, but there is no richer than that are rich with God and there is no poorer than those who are unfaithful to God. The Apostle Paul , in his Epistle to the Corinthians , said the Christians of Corinth : Know this : Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully shall reap bountifully . This is the principle of our offering , Honor the Lord with the firstfruits of all thine increase . And instructions baptism, I say, wishing it clear to those who will be baptized , I say, the offering of Sunday morning is not a quest, this is the time of worship where God sees what is our god, the offering , the time of worship where God sees if it is He who is served first, or if it is Mammon , the god of wealth. Our offering can be an act of infidelity , it can be an act of greed , because if we human beings , we do not have to know what gives the left hand or right hand, never forget Jesus stood near the trunk, to see how we are deposited offerings. Then the Lord sees that we bring him in our Sunday worship , whether or not we honor . You know that the offering is an expression of rights that we recognize God on our lives. Lord, because I belong entirely , and because all that I have comes from you and me belong to you , so I want to honor you with the firstfruits of all my income and all my income. .. You can hide some income Mr. collector, but God knows our income every penny . So if we made a mistake , you understand that robbing God , this is not a way to honor and infidelity in this area becomes an obstacle to prayer. If anyone is a worshiper , this is the one that hears , those who fear the Lord, and that thought upon his name , spake often one to another, and a book of remembrance was written before the Lord , and God said to the men and women who are able to honor , they belong to me and I will spare them the day that I make . Our responsibility to God first, our responsibility as to the poor. The second text said have pity on the poor is to honor those who did . Our offering of the first Tuesday of the month in some of our rooms , the first Thursday of the month on the right bank is not a popular relief . It is a way of honoring God by taking care of the poor of his people. And if we call this offering Deuteronomy, it is because the text we find in Deuteronomy c.15 and invites us to remember the poor and needy. Oh , blessed be God for what he has done . We can express our gratitude , but I am convinced , my brothers and sisters, that if every Christian had at heart the poor and needy, we could do much more , and you know what the book of Acts , There was no needy person among them , and he worked miracles and wonders through the apostles . Have pity on the poor , have mercy on the poor is to honor those who made it , and the Bible says : If someone honors God , this is the one he hears . You know the text, we do not read , you know well, it is he who says : This people honors me with their lips, but their heart is far from me . This people honors me with their lips . It is obvious that we have to respect and honor God with our lips, it is clear that we owe a debt to the Lord and we must fulfill . The Word of God says: Let us offer through Jesus Christ and ever a sacrifice of praise , that is, the fruit of lips that confess his name . We must honor God with our lips, but as it is tragic when our heart is not there , when our heart does not honor God when our heart is the most respected when our heart is cold, when our heart is indifferent! Understand , my brothers and sisters, when we say to God : I love you , our heart must be there , and when we use expressions like this and its current beloved Savior requires that our heart is there . When we sing in worship , Lord, I will follow you everywhere, and that we cease to follow the cult complete, it is good to sing with our lips , I will follow you everywhere, but it would be much better if our heart was there. This people honors me with their lips, but their heart is far from me . Regarding this way of honoring God , here I would like to draw your attention to a recent development . There fortnight on a Sunday afternoon , a young girl in ¬ converted - oh, its a girl unconverted , I know that some Christians might say , but finally listen anyway - a girl comes unconverted the evangelistic meeting and it was held a few seconds standing in the aisle at the bottom , she cocked her head and she made the sign of the cross . After being signed , she went to sit in the last row of a bay , it remained standing , she bent her head, she has collected a moment, before sitting down , she signed three times . Oh , I know there are Pentecostals to mock this way. But imagine that when I saw the fulfillment of this girl to the house of God , it made me feel , and it made me pity for Christians Pentecost can enter our rooms on Sunday morning when others pray and discuss everything and anything until worship starts . Do you have the feeling, my brothers and sisters, that we honor God you feel that we respect , we feel that we give him the honor due to him ? What we fear of God in our heart ? If we do not believe it is there and if we think , because it is not there, you can drive anywhere and talk about how no matter what, so why push up the mockery pray quarter of an hour later ! If anyone is a worshiper , this is the one he hears . Oh , not only the appearance , I say , but from the heart . I still want us to read two or three texts before concluding. Isaiah 29/13 : The Lord said, Forasmuch as this people draw near me , it honors me with the mouth and lips, but their heart is far from me, and their fear of me, n is a precept of human tradition. We have here the word fear , fear toward Me is taught by the precept of human tradition , and God said This is why I still among this people . Honoring God is in itself have the fear of his name , not the fear of human principles , not the fear of a man or men , but the fear of God and fear of God, you know this is not a concern with respect to our past sins , since we know that God has forgiven and there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus . But this is holy reverence of God, the real danger ; consider that it is the Triune God , the righteous God , he is the living and true God , the one Hebrews tells us: our God is a consuming fire , and I like the word also because we tend to forget : Our God is a consuming fire . There is therefore in our heart a holy fear of him. Isaiah 43 quarters . This way, I can tell you right now, not about God , but for the people of God who is honored in the eyes of the Lord , but this text will serve us. This is what God says about his people : Because you are precious in my eyes, because you are honored and I love you , I give men for thee , and people for thy life. By applying the text of the prophet not the people, but to God , we learn that honor God , is that he s in our eyes . What is God for us ? What is Jesus Christ for us? What is the Holy Spirit for us? So if we honor God , if we honor our Lord Jesus as we honor the Father and if we honor the Holy Spirit , the divine person will have in our eyes . Isaiah 58/13 : If thou turn away thy foot from the Sabbath - the day of rest , I do not dare say on Sunday , but do not forget that our life belongs to the Lord , week and Sunday - To not do your pleasure on my holy day, if you call the Sabbath a delight, the holy of the Lord honorable, and shalt honor him, not thine own ways ... This is another way of honoring God. Do not our will, or Monday or Tuesday or any other day of the week, or Sunday , if you 1honores , not in thine own ways , so if you honor me , I t hear them , you appartiendras me , I will have compassion on you, youll have me in the day that I prepare and you will see that there is a difference between one who serves God and one who does not serve him . Titus 2/9 & 10: At the beginning of the chapter, the apostle urged Titus : But speak thou the things which become sound doctrine to , that older men ... say that older women ... also urges young people ... And v- 9: Exhort servants to be submissive to their masters , and to please them in all things, not being contradicted , not stealing , but showing all good fidelity , that they may adorn in all the doctrine of God our Savior. To honor in all the doctrine of God our Savior. Conclude by saying that we should not honor the humans more than God , more even our children , our parents, our spouse, we are called to honor the Lord with our goods and with the firstfruits of all our income that have mercy on the poor, is to honor the Lord, that we should not honor God , the only respect our lips, but first and foremost with our heart , there must be in us the fear of God , he must have for us the price and we love that we must not follow our own ways. This is not a moral lesson , my brothers and sisters, but the consequence of the great salvation that God has given us in Jesus Christ , and if Christ lives in us by the Holy Spirit , He who knew observe all the words of the Scriptures, give us the strength to observe us and we will then also from experience that if someone honors God and does his will , this is the one that God hears .
