HOPE Ive been thinking a lot about hope. I love that word. Ive used it since I first heard it. I hope so! Id squeal when someone asked me if Santa was going to visit me this year? But hoping Santa will visit or your lottery ticket will hit or the horoscope is right is not worthy of my hope. I have no track record with them. Well, I do, but its not good. Its iffy at best. My hope in Christ is not wishful thinking. Im not rubbing a rabbits foot. Im not wishing on a star. I have a track record with God. I have a history of Gods faithfulness. I can look back and remember when He took me by the hand and led me through. My hope is not that He will get me out, my hope is that He will get me through. Through the fire, through the flood, through the sickness, through the loss, and get us through without a hair being singed. Oh, we may be bloodied and bruised this side of the curtain, but when He presents us to the Father we will be faultless, blemish-free, not a spot or wrinkle. Thats where my hope lies. In the promises of Christ. He who believeth on me, though he were dead, yet shall he live, Jesus said. And because we have a track record, an empty tomb, we have hope.
