HOT TOPIC: Two ministers and a 90-year-old activist were arrested for feeding the homeless in a protest to new regulations passed by the city of Fort Lauderdale, Fla. Regarding public food sharing. The three men, along with about 11 other volunteers, were taken to jail after staging a public homeless feeding site right in front of city hall, in solidarity against the new regulations. The new regulations do not disallow for the feeding of the homeless, but set up guidelines for where feeding sites should be located: 500 feet away from each other, 500 feet away from residential areas, and limited to one site per city block. Should the new regulations have been passed at all? Did the police go too far in arresting these men? Or do you think they deserved the punishment, which could be a maximum of 60 days in jail and a $500 fine, for their blatant disregard of the new law? #9HotTopics What do you think?
