HOW CAN YOU BE SO HARSH TO ME WHEN IM NOT A KAFIR?? Sometimes, a Mumin (or Muslim) may need to be HARSH with his own brother (in Imaan) than to his enemies and the enemies of his brother (from the Kuffar). Yes, the kind of harshness he doesnt manifest to some kuffar and this does not necessarily violate the concept of al-walaa wal-baraa rather, such harshness is sometimes necessary to establish or strengten al-walaa wal baraa. We see examples of this kind of harshness in the harshness of Nabbiy Musa (alayhisalam) towards his own brother, Haaroon (alayhisalam) yet, he was gentle or linient with the wicked Firawn, while establishing the haqq against him. Nabiiy Musa was harsh towards his brother, Haaroon to the extent that Allaah, the exalted related about him: And he took his brother by the head, and pulled him towards him... [Surat al-Araaf (7):150] And we also see a good example in this respect, in the way RasuluLah(salaL ohualayhiwasal am) was harsh towards Usaamah ibn Zayd (radiyAllaahan hu): he (salaLohualayh iwasalam) said to Usaamah Ibn Zayd (radiyAllaahan hu), when he was fighting a disbeliever in the battlefield who had just uttered the kalimah of Tawheed, O Usaamah! Do you fight him after he has said that there is no deity worthy of worship besides Allaah?!. Usaamah said, So I did not cease repeating it (ie, the kalimah), until I was no longer certain that I had accepted Islaam before that day. Indeed, Usaamah benefited from this harshness in advising, during the days of trials and tribulations that occured after the murder of Uthmaan (radiyAllaahan hu) as he stayed away from spilling the blood of the Muslims. Moreso, it is well established that the Prophet (salaLohualayh iwasalam) was much severe with the scholars from his Companions (in admonishing), than he was with other than them. An example of this, is his statement to Muaadh, when he lengthened the Prayer with the people, the Prophet said to him, Are you a person who causes fitnah (trouble), O Muaadh?. And this comes along with his (salaLohualayh iwasalam) gentleness to the Bedouin who urinated in the mosque, as reported in Saheehul Bukhaaree and others. Ikhwaan, instead of rejecting Naseeha and rectification based on clear-cut evidences from others by giving excuse that, the admonitions is too harsh, it is better to look beyond the harshness and take sincere advice. Verily, the succesful person is the one who accept sincere advice from others, may Allaah rectify our affairs. #loving_and_hati ng_for_Allahs
