Sent in: Its loopholes like these that break the system! Food stamps should NOT be paying for prepackaged PREPARED food! Who cares if its cold! Its the dollar amount payed for the preparation. You can buy chicken and make your own at a fraction of the the cost! Its not that hard to stuff a chicken breast. People need fresh, healthy food. And they need to learn to manage their finances when they are able to get off public assistance. I just witnessed a family buy pack after pack of HEB sushi AS A SNACK! On top of 12 packs of soda and chips! Its wrong! The government, regardless of its flaws, provides assistance for so its people dont go hungry. Getting a hand to feed your family is wonderful, but taking the handout and shoveling junk into your face is another.
