HOW DO YOU KNOW THAT THE LORD HAS SPOKEN? --------------------------------------------------------------------- ....THEN I KNEW THAT THIS WAS THE WORD OF THE LORD...(Jeremiah 32:8) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Before the time in reference,Prophet Jeremiah never knew that that word came from God.He knew it later on.Some folks think that as ministers of the gospel we should know everything.They also believe that at any given point,we must have a word from the Lord for them.That is not true.If a prophet knew everything,then he will be in the class of God. Jeremiah was imprisoned by Zedekiah,the last king of Judah before King Nebuchadnezzer deported them to Babylon,and while in the prison he received a revelation.People of God,what happened in the days of Jeremiah is still happening today.Prophets are still being persecuted,a revised method of casting them into prison.But rest assured,that wherever you are and whichever prison you may find yourself,God is there with you,as you live Godly.The Bible says,..Even though I make my bed in hell,there the Lord is with me...The reason why Zedekiah imprisoned Jeremiah was that he told him the truth that Nebuchadnezzer will come deport him to Babylon.But it came to pass.People of God should not hide revelations from those God had revealed it to.All we need is wisdom to pass the revelation to them.I dont care what exalted office you occupy.If God had spoekn,then God had spoken. It looked like Jeremiah did not welcome that prophecy whole-heartedly.But God gave him another revelation.Understanding how God speaks is like learning a new language or learning a trade.You grow in it day by day.Spiritual things have physical parrallel. God told Jeremiah again,.....Behold, Hanameel the son of Shallum thine uncle shall come unto thee saying, Buy thee my field that is in Anathoth: for the right of redemption is thine to buy it.So Hanameel mine uncles son came to me in the court of the prison according to the word of the LORD, and said unto me, Buy my field, I pray thee, that is in Anathoth, which is in the country of Benjamin: for the right of inheritance is thine, and the redemption is thine; buy it for thyself. Then I knew that this was the word of the LORD.(Jeremiah 32:6-8).
