HOW TO BE A BLESSING TO YOUR PASTOR #4. Treat him/her with Proper Respect - Treat him/her with as much or more respect than you would anyone else in authority. Sometimes folks tend to think of him/her as a family member,employee, buddy, sidekick etc instead of their actual spiritual leader. A pastor, however, is God’s appointed man or woman to help guide the soul of you and your family, and they need our love and respect. Express your respect to their authority by addressing them as “pastor” rather than by their first name, or family title of Aunt, Grandpa etc...especially while on the church premises. “And we urge you, brethren, to recognize those who labor among you, and are over you in the Lord and admonish you, (13) and to esteem them very highly in love for their work’s sake...” (1 Thes 5:12 -13)
