HOW TO RECOGNISE A FAKE SAMSUNG Warning: This post is ridiculously long. With the influx of fake gadgets on the market, one needs all the information known to man to avoid being sold a fake product without knowing. As for Samsung phones running on Android, it used to be easy to detect, but now the Chinese have taken another step in developing nearly original fake products. One of the most successful companies that produces high quality Samsung gadgets is HDC, a Chinese company. It produces any phone that has been made by Samsung. Without further ado, let us see how we can recognise these phones. Android is an open source software. You should never be fooled into believing that a Samsung phone is original if it gives a signature of the model. To us who do not know a signature, (in this case) it is any narration by any website, that gives a name of the phone. For example, Facebook writes install facebook on your samsung galaxy s4 to browse faster. In this case, facebook recognises the phone as a galaxy s4 because of the phones software. Anyone can take the galaxy S4 software, since it is an open source operating system and use it to make any phone, and the phone will give a signature of an S4. So, signatures can not be relied upon. A way that a lot of people used to rely upon is where you dial *#0*#. Then the phone brings a menu on the whole screen. Then you tap on sensor, then you move you hand above the earpiece, since the proximity sensor is located near the earpiece. An original Samsung phone running on Android vibrates and turns the screen bright green. The bad news is that latest fake phones are also coming with this function. But to really know if its fake, look at the black circle that shows at the bottom left corner of the screen when you tap sensor. The black circle is a campus. If you put the phone on a flat surface and turn it either clockwise or anticlockwise, the red campus needle inside the black circle has to move and point in one direction like a campus does. If the phone is fake, the campus needle does not move at all. While on the same screen, not returning to the main menu, tap graph. It shows a horizontal line in the middle of the screen. If you tilt the phone in x or y or z axes, the graph shows a jagged line corresponding to every movement you make. A fake phone does not give a graph. The last most reliable way of testing an Android Samsung is by performing the following. Turn off the phone. Then start by pressing and holding the up volume button, then the center button at the bottom of the screen, then the power button. Do not release the buttons. As soon as the Samsung logo appears, release only the power button for half a second and hold it again until a menu appear. This is the phones boot up or set up menu similar to that of a computer. On the right you see the android robot. A fake samsung phone does not bring that menu. The menu is also very useful when your phone has locked and you have forgotten the password. You can reset it to factory default settings there. Testing a Samsung by looking at the the screen type, whether it is Active Matrix Organic Light Emitting Diode (AMOLED) or IPS or LCD has been left out as it needs experienced eyes to note. I hope you find it useful. Thank you.
