HOW VERY SAFE ARE OUR SLEEPING HOURS DAILY? Our modern life is spent largely indoors. The better part of our daily life is indoors at home, in the office, in the car and even for physical activity and sweat, it is hours in a gym. Our daily life is as good as 80-90% of our time spent indoors. Give and take, up to one third of that 80-90% is time spent sleeping. Look closely at your bedroom tonight. It is a totally enclosed environment, with very restricted air circulation. Windows are never opened. The door is almost always closed. Almost all bedrooms have air conditioners. What we have done is completely cut off air exchange, air ventilation and limited air circulation. We do know now how so stale the air is. Oxygen content is minimal. Do we really clean the inside of these air conditioners? It is filled with dust accumulation and are said to be the best amongst many indoor breeders of bacteria. So, night after night is breathing of stale air filled with dust and bacteria expelled from the air conditioners. Over and above all that is the amount of air borne dust, dust mites, carcasses and dust mite droppings from the bed sheet and mattress that we lie on. in addition to that on the mattress is our accumulating dead skin cells that are rotting. For these reasons, some experts feel that more people suffer from the effects of indoor air pollution than outdoor pollution. Added to indoor bedroom pollution are fumes off appliances, vapors from building materials, paints, furniture and more. Indoor pollution needs to be checked, controlled and/or reduced/prevented. How can we prevent the damaging effects of air pollution? We have some answers ... at airandyou.blogspot and bedroomupkeep.blogspot
