HOW VISITEST THOU? This will surprise you. The book of Proverbs - TopicsExpress

HOW VISITEST THOU? This will surprise you. The book of Proverbs is so full of wisdom. Most of us visit friends, relatives, church colleagues on a regular basis. We do it with such frequency that the one visited will end up not enjoying our company. I do not here refer to stingy people who do not like visitors. My Bible says: Proverbs 25: 17 Withdraw thy foot from thy neighbours house; lest he be weary of thee, and so hate thee. (KJV) Let me hear what the Apmlified Bible says: Proverbs 25 17 Let your foot seldom be in your neighbours house, lest he become tired of you and hate you. (AMP) And what surprises me is that when they visit, they treat the personal belongings of the person they visit as their own. One just comes and opens the fridge and take a coke. Some even think they are so close as to choose clothes from the wardrobe without the owners approval. Ah, we are so close, they think. Some even demand food that is not in the house at that time to be prepared: Ah, munonwa tea isina mazai? ummm handitozvigone. (You have tea without eggs? Im not used to that). And you know what, I am not talking about people who are not close. Neither am I talking about people who are boastful. I am talking about people who should be free in their friends house and then they abuse that freedom! When you visit a friend, EAT WHAT IS THERE. I want to tell you the truth. It is not a sin to over-visit colleagues. But it end in a sin: HATRED, resentment. The KJV says your neighbour will end up hating you. You make someone sin, then you are a sinner as well: Romans 14:13 Let us not therefore judge one another any more: but judge this rather, that no man put a stumblingblock or an occasion to fall in his brothers way. Some visit and overstay. I have seen that many people are not welcome at their relatives homes because they overstay their welcome. I am not being divisive here. Do we not have an idiom which says: Nhambetambe inoregwa ichanaka. It simply means do not overdue things, nomatter how pleasant at that time. Ibva uchirikudiwa. Someone might answer: Ko handiti ukama igasva...? Yaa but gasva racho rinenge razozarisa manje. Ladies and genltlemen, this is very important for relationship building. Stay blessed as you ponder and meditate upon the wisdom of proverbs 25:17 Let your foot seldom be in your neighbours house, lest he become tired of you and hate you.
