HOW’S IT GOING? With all the troubles in the world, especially the persecution of Christians by militants of other religions, and also by atheists, we can feel justified in thinking that God has lost control of this world! One of the things that is now a lot easier to believe is that there is some sort of evil power, and Jesus calls this power Satan. In the Book of Revelation we learn that Satan has been given a lot of freedom on this earth for a while. How long the while is, is a good question. Hopefully not for too much longer. Satan is certainly influencing many people, and they are falling for his ideas, thoughts and plans. However, he does not have complete freedom. It is only within limits set by God, similar to the way God set limits when Satan attacked Job. Thankfully in the Old Testament we read of many prophecies in which God warned of what would happen in the future if the Israelites and Judeans did (continued on next page) HOW’S IT GOING (continued) not follow Him and His call on their lives. Sure enough the prophecies came true, exactly as given. More than that, God predicted the coming of the Messiah, His Son, into the world. The prediction included his birthplace, events surrounding his life, and details in considerable depth about his death and resurrection. These were all fulfilled in extraordinary detail. What this shows to us is that God is in control. He knows what is happening. He knows the pressures and troubles that Christians are under all around the world. The one thing He asks of us is that we TRUST HIM, AND TRUST HE IS IN CONTROL. To what extent do we trust Him, REGARDLESS OF WHAT HAPPENS TO US? So, how’s it going?
