Well, just saw Foxcatcher with Steve Carrell, Mark Ruffalo, and Channing Tatum. Solid acting all around. Great editing and cinematography. Nice film score. But what was it, exactly? A horror movie in slow motion? A dark comedy? A portrait of a lunatic? A searing indictment of the disconnectedness of the American 1%? A fond reminiscence of the late 80s? (NO, it is not that!) Maybe its an analysis of failed American manhood? Maybe none of those but something else? Well, it was worth my time - compared to frickin Interstellar. Then again, if you liked Interstellar, Id give this very earth-bound movie a wide berth. I hope it gets an Oscar nod for editing and possibly direction. rottentomatoes/m/foxcatcher/
