Ladies & Gentlemen, I do hope you have had a Wonderful and Blessed Thanksgiving and all of your families are well and safe! Men, our work is not done, we the Southern Volunteer Infantry Battalion have just one more battle before we withdrawal from the field to our Homes and Hearths for the Christmas Holiday! Raid on Ft Pierce Reenactment, December 12th, 13th, and 14th 1864. I ask all who can attend, we need all of the SVB Infantry to help in this endeavor. The reenactment does need as many SVB members as possible to attend. As you may know there will be a shortage of Federals this year due to the 150th of Ft McAllister in Savannah, so please make sure you bring blue for this reenactment. There will be school days, so if any men or ladies want to help it would greatly be appreciated, Ft Pierce has a very good turnout of student! Plan for weather, hot, cold, WET, WET, or dry, as I do not know of the ground at this time! Since we have had lots of rain and the opening of the Dikes to let water out of the St Johns River and Lake Okeechobee it may still be damp! I would like a headcount before we arrive so I can make some type of game plan as to what we need as an Infantry Battalion. I do look forward to seeing you and battling the weekend, I know this reenactment is late but I ask, let’s give a good turnout and enjoy each other’s company.
