HRECC Marks Nine Year Anniversary Yesterday marked the 9 year anniversary of the HRECC. On July 25th 2005 the City of Harrisonburg and Rockingham County combined their dispatching and 9-1-1 services into one public safety answering point and the HRECC was opened for operation on this date. The creation of the ECC combined all emergency communications services into one agency which has served to enhance the services provided to the citizens of the City, County and Towns served. Since that time the HRECC has handled over 2.25 million telephone transaction and dispatched over 800,000 calls for service to responders while providing 24/7/365 service. Thanks and congratulations is extended to the staff of dedicated personnel who are always there when you need them…and still there when you don’t.
