Subject: Request for Cancellation of “Combined Recruitment for the post of Programme Executive and Transmission Executive Examination – 2013 (Scripts & Tribal Dialect/Translation)” and conduct of fresh recruitment for the same. Sir, Refer to your advertisement in the Employment News/Rozgar Samachar dated 23.03.2013 for Combined Recruitment for the post of Programme Executive and Transmission Executive Examination – 2013 concerning the vacant posts and the requisite qualifications in particular reference to Hmar dialect and the scheme of examination in filling up the vacancies. In Note II it is mentioned that a candidate choosing English in Part A of Paper II will not be allowed to select English in Part B. That means a candidate has no choice but to select Hindi, Manipuri, etc. (Languages under 8th Schedule). As a matter of fact, Hindi or any other Major Indian Language (Eight Schedule) has not been offered any more beyond Class VIII in the curriculum of the Schools/Colleges in Manipur state. We have our own MIL (Hmar) upto the Graduate level under Manipur University. This means any aspiring candidate who wish to apply for the vacant posts of Programme Executive for Hmar Dialect, but cannot read and write the language listed in Annexure V is automatically disqualified even before appearing in the written examination. In the light of this facts and circumstances, I would like to draw your careful scrutiny of the requisites and remove any discrepancy/incongruity or discriminatory clause and conduct a fresh examination in a language of the candidate own choice (English, Hindi or any other Major Indian Language listed under 8th Schedule). Till such measure is adopted, any process of recruitment initiated including written examination which is already conducted be declared null and void.
