HSC Sponsors Texas Parks and Wildlife, Texas Game Wardens Youth Hunt! During the weekend of October 25, 2014, the TPWD Game Wardens put on an annual youth hunt at Cedar Bayou Farms in Liberty County. Youth hunts put on by Texas Game Wardens are designed to be educational hunts and enable kids to experience the outdoors and hunting. These kids have either never hunted before or rarely get the opportunity to do so. There were five first-time hunters that were successful in harvesting their first animal and their experiences were captured on film! A film crew for the television series, “Wide Open Outdoor Adventures,” was on hand to capture these kids taking their first animal. To make the experience even more memorable, the landowner took all the kids on airplane rides. During the weekend, local game wardens were there to educate the kids on the importance of harvesting an animal and how to clean it correctly. A total of 14 kids attended this years hunt with 7 deer and 5 hogs being harvested. It was a huge success! This years hunt was sponsored by the Texas Game Warden Association, Houston Safari Club, Yagas Cafe in Galveston, Academy Sports + Outdoors and Delta Waterfowl of Liberty County. Without funds donated by these organizations, these youth hunts would not be possible. #huntereducation #hunting #whatgetsyououtdoors #texasgamewardens #TPWD #huntingseason #education
