HUGE DELAY IN ISSUING PHILIPPINE PASSPORTS CONTINUES. On 13th - TopicsExpress

HUGE DELAY IN ISSUING PHILIPPINE PASSPORTS CONTINUES. On 13th August the embassy confirmed that only 25% to 30% of passports applied for at the May 17th Outreach in Dublin have returned from Manila. They said there is some problem at the Manila end, but didnt state what the problem is. It is now 100 days since the Outreach (3 months and 10 days), and Ive only received confirmation from 4 Filipinos that their passports arrived after 2.5 months, on 28th July. One of these four was issued in Manila on 9th July but didnt arrive in London till three weeks later. Will the Philippines ever get its act together ! They seem ashamed to even admit there is a delay. This is the longest delay we have ever experienced. A delay of three months and ten days already. Another Filipina raised an interesting point this morning. There is a difference between registered post - whereby the postman doesnt deliver a letter until he receives a signature - , and the UK recorded post which the embassy uses. I understand that the postman doesnt require your signature and can therefore put your passport into the letterbox, and you have no proof that it was delivered ! Are there any Filiipnos who recieved their passports by recorded post and werent required to sign for them by the postman ? Wed love to hear your comments.
