HUGS FOR THE DAY ~~ GETTING TO KNOW HIM (Sharable Posts) Matthew 11:29-30 (KJV) [Jesus said] Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. Oswald Chambers, author of the Christian classic devotional text My Utmost for His Highest, advised: Never support an experience which does not have God as its source, and faith in God as its result. These words serve as a powerful reminder that we are called to walk with God and to obey His commandments. God gave us those commandments for a reason; not to oppress us, but so that we might obey them and be blessed. We live in a world that presents us with countless temptations to stray far from Gods path. But if were wise, we will defend ourselves against and resist these temptations. God has given us clear instructions for when were confronted with sin: we should walk or, better yet, run in the opposite direction. The good news is, the better we know Him, the easier and more comforting that will be.
