Ha. Holy synch!! I just wrote to a friend giving him my take on the materialistic side, of the ever growing trend of the glamourous Westernised spiritual communty. No clearer picture comes to mind other than the designer loving spiritual yogic people and all their entourage of friends and fashionable goods that they carry when they fly out onto a sacred site or temple city. You see them flying from various hot spots of Australia into Ubud, Cusco, Hawaii, India...seeking the beautiful spaces, singing mantras with the beautiful people with their white teeth and glowing mantra smiles, holding the right gear in their fashionable spiritually acceptable designer prayer blankets, mats and back-backs! Without this gear, you just another fellow traveller on the wide open road seeking salvation.
