Had a call tonight just as I got to Fort Snelling from a childhood - TopicsExpress

Had a call tonight just as I got to Fort Snelling from a childhood friend who has been my sister through my life and her Brother and Father my Brother and Father. She lost her Father Ohron about two maybe three months ago...he was someone who loved me as his daughter. His Son, Lauries Brother Skip loved me as a Sister. She called to tell me he dove off a five story parking ramp in Anoka this morning...the same parking ramp where my Father worked years ago. Skip was four days older than myself...was a athlete (track) in our school of Coon Rapids class of 68. He struggled all his life with Depression and Bipolar. What makes a person decide today is the day to go from life into death in order to find peace? No one can save another person...no one can control another person. Please...let us learn how to listen to the other individual...put ourselves in their shoes...keep the door open. Mental Illness is not something to whisper about anymore people...it is something to know about and try to be there for that person that you know might be struggling no matter how unattractive or uncomfortable it might feel to you. If you feel uncomfortable being around that person...try being that person...I will miss you Skip...
