Had a fantastic opportunity to visit with several of my cousins last night. Thank you so much to those who were able to show up and those who put it together. I had a blast. Much love to all. As for everything else, my heart goes out to the family of slain police officer Tyler Stewart. Though this was not a political act, I am still filled with rage and eventually sadness when I think of the 125 police officers who were killed in the line of duty this year alone. These are individuals who put their lives on the line every day they go to work to protect and serve the rest of us. Anybody who thinks of police officers in any other way is damaged goods mentally. Today I also feel for the families of the 162 passengers and crew on board AirAsia 8501. At this point I am beginning to wonder why flying aboard a commercial jet in Southeast Asia is becoming so increasingly dangerous. Lastly, and for the nobody who has actually read this far, I am forced to wonder why it was Vice President Biden and not President Obama that spoke at NYPD Detective Ramos funeral. Was this not a national tragedy? The protests the night of the grand jury decision announcement in Ferguson, Mo were significant enough for the President to make a national address, but not the assassination of two of NYPDs finest? I can only surmise that the situation was too delicate for him to attend, as he is afraid to take a stance on this national issue. Ive called him cowardly before and I do so again today.
